I’m Carter Crowley. My dad Bryan and I run CB Home Solutions out of our office on W New York Ave in Oshkosh — which means if you’re selling a home in Omro, Winneconne, Berlin, or anywhere else in the Winnebago County area, we’re right down the road. We’ve been buying homes in this county since we started the business in 2015, and we’ve completed over 300 transactions across Wisconsin. This is home for us.

If you own a property in any of the communities covered on this page, we can make you a cash offer based on its current condition. No repairs, no cleaning, no showings. You choose when to close, and you can leave behind anything you don’t want to deal with.

I should be upfront — if your home is in good shape and you’re not in a rush, listing with an agent will usually get you more. I hold an active Wisconsin real estate license (License #81027-94), so I can help you think through both paths honestly. A cash sale is the better move when the house needs more work than you want to invest, when you’re settling an estate, or when you need the certainty of a done deal on a set timeline.

Omro

Omro sits along the Fox River about 10 minutes west of our Oshkosh office. The housing stock here is largely mid-century — small ranches and Cape Cods built in the 1940s through 1960s, many along Main St and the residential streets near Scott Park. These homes were affordable when they were built and they’re still affordable today, but after 60+ years the maintenance needs add up: aging roofs, original plumbing, outdated electrical, and basements that haven’t been dry since the ’80s. We work with long-term Omro homeowners who are ready to move on but don’t have the budget or desire to renovate before selling. We also see properties here tied to estate settlements where the family just wants to get it handled without months of prep work.

Winneconne

Winneconne is a small community on the Wolf River with a tight-knit feel and housing stock that ranges from older village homes near the downtown to lake-adjacent properties along the river and Lake Winneconne. The waterfront and near-water homes are where we see the most interesting situations — seasonal cottages that were converted to year-round use without proper insulation, updated mechanicals, or adequate foundations. Moisture issues from proximity to the water, aging docks and seawalls, and homes that don’t meet current building codes for permanent occupancy are common. If you’re thinking about selling a lake house or waterfront property, we handle those regularly. The village homes on the residential streets tend to be post-war construction with compact footprints and deferred maintenance. In a market this size, a home that needs significant work can sit for months waiting for the right buyer. We eliminate that wait — we’ll buy it as-is and close on your schedule.

Berlin

Berlin straddles the Fox River at the Winnebago-Green Lake County line and is the largest community on this page with about 5,500 residents. The housing stock includes a good number of pre-1940 homes — particularly in the older neighborhoods near downtown and along the river — mixed with more affordable post-war construction throughout. We recently purchased a property on Broadway St in Berlin where the owner’s father was a tenant moving into a 55+ rental — the family didn’t want to prep the house for market or invest in repairs, they just wanted a quick, as-is sale. That’s a common scenario here. Many of Berlin’s older homes have mold or moisture issues from proximity to the river combined with aging foundations. The renovation costs on these properties can approach or exceed what the home would sell for on the open market. When the math doesn’t work for a traditional listing, a cash offer fills the gap.

Pickett, Butte des Morts, Waukau & Surrounding Areas

We also buy throughout the smaller communities and rural areas of Winnebago County. We purchased a property on County Rd M in Pickett from the original owner — Deanna’s kids helped her sell as she moved into assisted living. The house was full of belongings and had significant cleanup needs, and the family just needed someone who would take it as-is. That’s the kind of situation we handle regularly in these smaller communities. Butte des Morts, Waukau, and the unincorporated areas between Omro, Winneconne, and Oshkosh all have rural properties and vacant land parcels that can be difficult to sell through traditional channels. If your property is anywhere in the Winnebago County area, we’ll come take a look.

Most cash home buyers who advertise in smaller Wisconsin communities are based hours away — or out of state entirely. They’ve never driven through Omro on a Saturday morning, they don’t know that Winneconne floods near the river in heavy rain years, and they’ve never walked through a Pickett farmhouse that hasn’t been updated since the 1970s. We have.

Our office is on W New York Ave in Oshkosh. When you call us about a property in Winnebago County, we can usually schedule a walkthrough within a day or two — sometimes the same day. We know the local contractors, we know the permit process, and we know what properties in these communities actually sell for after renovation. That local knowledge means our offers are based on real numbers, not a national algorithm.

It also means we’re accountable. We live here. Our name is on the business, our BBB accreditation is tied to our Oshkosh address, and our 85+ Google reviews are from real Wisconsin sellers. When we tell you we’ll close on a certain date, we show up — because our reputation in this community depends on it.

Here’s Carter explaining how our process works:
