I’m Carter Crowley, and my dad Bryan and I run CB Home Solutions. We started this business in 2015 out of Oshkosh, and over the past few years we’ve expanded into the Milwaukee metro area — buying properties throughout Milwaukee, West Allis, Wauwatosa, Glendale, and the surrounding suburbs.

Milwaukee is a different market than the Fox Valley. The housing stock is older, the neighborhoods vary block by block, and many of the homes we buy here are rentals that landlords are ready to move on from or inherited properties that families don’t know what to do with. In the past year, we’ve purchased 15+ homes across Milwaukee County — from duplexes near Sherman Park, to bungalows in West Allis, to rentals on the south side near Holt Ave.

One thing I want to say upfront: a cash offer from an investor isn’t always the best move. If your home is in solid shape and you can wait a few months, listing with an agent will usually net you more. Because I hold an active Wisconsin real estate license (License #81027-94), I can walk you through both options and tell you honestly which one makes more sense for your situation. We’d rather lose a deal than have you feel like you made the wrong choice.

Watch Carter explain our cash home buying process.

“Working with Carter from CB Home Solution was phenomenal! We needed to sell a house as soon as possible, and as-is. And Carter was the perfect choice for the mission! He was kind, professional, patient, and very fair with the price! He walked us through the process step by step and was there for any questions we had, big or small. I highly recommend Carter if you want to sell your home without the hassle of renovating, staging, showing, and realtor fees!”Ella Hayat, Milwaukee homeowner

We don’t just say we buy houses in Milwaukee — here are real properties we’ve purchased this past year.

Freeman’s Seller Story

The Situation

Freeman had recently lost his mother, and then a month later found her boyfriend of 36 years deceased. On top of the grief, he was now responsible for selling his mom’s house — a property that had accumulated years of belongings and deferred maintenance.

The Challenge

The home was a hoarding situation with burst pipes in the basement. It needed severe work throughout — the kind of property that wouldn’t qualify for traditional financing. Freeman and his family were dealing with estate logistics while still processing two major losses.

Our Solution

We walked the property, assessed the scope of work, and made Freeman a cash offer that reflected the home’s current condition. No cleanout required, no repairs, no waiting.

The Result

Freeman accepted and we closed on a timeline that worked for his family. He was able to focus on what mattered — processing the loss and moving forward — instead of managing a house cleanout and renovation from scratch.

Seller Review

“Carter was God sent to me during a time I had lost my Mother and then a month later found her boyfriend of 36 years deceased. Carter understood my family pain as we were faced with the challenge of selling our mom’s house. Carter was there to assist us every step of the way and was a man of his word, making it a smooth transition for us.”Freeman Townsend, Milwaukee homeowner

Seller Story — Downsizing After 25+ Years

The Situation

The homeowner had lived in this house for over 25 years and was ready to move into a senior apartment. After decades of living in one place, they had accumulated a lifetime of belongings.

The Challenge

The home was well maintained but severely outdated — original kitchen and bathrooms throughout. The owner didn’t have the budget or energy to update the place for a traditional listing, and the thought of clearing out 25 years of belongings before showings was overwhelming.

Our Solution

We made a cash offer based on the home’s current condition and let them leave behind whatever they didn’t want to take to their new apartment.

The Result

They closed on their schedule and transitioned into senior housing without the stress of repairs, staging, or open houses. We renovated the home and put it back on the market for a new family.

More Milwaukee Metro Homes We’ve Purchased

  • 2342 S 73rd St, Milwaukee, WI — Owner relocating to another part of the state to move in with her fiancé. Home needed work throughout and she wanted to sell quickly without dealing with a listing.
  • 3613 N 11th St, Milwaukee, WI — Out-of-state rental property owner whose contractors had taken advantage of him, leaving the house gutted mid-renovation. Needed a fast solution to cut his losses.
  • Multiple properties (Sherman Blvd, Rohr Ave, Custer Ave, and more) — Trevor, an out-of-state landlord, sold us his entire portfolio of 11 Milwaukee-area rental properties. His property management company wasn’t doing its job, and he wanted one buyer to take over responsibility on all of them rather than listing each one individually.

Every one of these properties was purchased as-is — no repairs, no cleaning, no agent commissions. If your Milwaukee home is in a similar situation, request your cash offer here.

Step 1: Tell Us About Your Property

Fill out the form at the top of this page or call (920) 215-4201. We’ll ask the basics — where the home is, what kind of shape it’s in, and whether you’re on a timeline. It’s a five-minute conversation. No commitment.

Step 2: We Come See It In Person

We schedule a walkthrough at a time that works for you. We look at the structure, the mechanicals, and what repairs are needed. We’ve walked through homes with burst pipes, houses packed floor-to-ceiling, places with mold in the basement — we’re not going to be surprised by anything. We just need to see it so we can put an accurate number together.

Step 3: You Get a Written Offer

We typically present a written cash offer the same day we walk the property. No “we’ll get back to you next week.” We’ll also show you what comparable homes in your neighborhood have sold for, so you can see how we arrived at our number and compare it to what you might get listing on the open market.

Step 4: You Choose When We Close

If the offer works, you pick the closing date. Need to move fast? We can close in as little as two weeks. Need 60 days to sort out your next step? That works too. We pay the closing costs, handle the title work, and you leave behind anything you don’t want — furniture, junk, whatever. You show up, sign, and walk out with a check.

Not every house is a fit for a cash sale. But after buying 230+ properties across Wisconsin since 2015, here are the situations where it tends to be the best path forward:

Out-of-State Rental Properties

This is one of the most common situations we see in Milwaukee. Landlords who live out of state, tenants who’ve caused damage, property management that isn’t working out. We buy rental properties with tenants still in place — you don’t need to evict anyone first.

Inherited a House You Don’t Want

Settling an estate is stressful enough without adding home repairs and showings. Whether the property is full of belongings or sitting vacant, we’ve helped families across Milwaukee County sell inherited homes quickly so they can focus on what matters.

Home Needs Major Work

Burst pipes, foundation cracks, mold, fire damage — Milwaukee’s older housing stock means these issues are common. If your home wouldn’t qualify for a traditional buyer’s mortgage, a cash sale may be your best option. We buy homes in any condition as-is.

Behind on Payments or Facing Foreclosure

If you’re getting notices from your lender, time is critical. We can close fast enough to help you avoid a foreclosure on your record, which can impact your credit for years.

Relocating and Need to Sell Quickly

Job transfer, moving in with a partner, heading to a different state — whatever the reason, sometimes you need to sell now, not in four months. We’ve helped multiple Milwaukee homeowners close quickly so they could move on to the next chapter.

Tired of Being a Landlord

Milwaukee has a lot of duplexes and small multifamily buildings. If you’re done dealing with tenants, maintenance calls, and property management headaches, we’ll buy it as-is — tenants in place, deferred maintenance and all.

We buy homes throughout Milwaukee County and the surrounding suburbs. Here’s what we typically see in different parts of the metro:

Milwaukee — North Side (Sherman Blvd, Capitol Dr, Hampton Ave area)

A mix of duplexes, bungalows, and larger single-family homes — many built in the 1920s-1950s. Common issues include deferred maintenance, outdated mechanicals, and rental properties with significant tenant wear. We purchased multiple rental properties in this area from an out-of-state landlord this past year.

Milwaukee — South Side (Holt Ave, Oklahoma Ave, Layton Blvd area)

Milwaukee bungalows and Cape Cods from the 1940s-1960s. Many are well-built but need updating — original kitchens, old windows, basements with moisture issues. We bought a home on Holt Ave from a longtime owner moving into senior housing this year.

West Allis & West Milwaukee

Smaller lots with post-war housing stock. Many homes here were built for factory workers and are solid structures that just need modernizing. Typical issues are old roofing, outdated electrical, and cramped floor plans. It’s a strong rental market, so we see a lot of landlords here ready to sell.

Wauwatosa & Glendale

Higher price points than much of Milwaukee County. Older homes here tend to be larger and in better condition but still need updating after 50+ years. We’ve bought properties in Glendale from portfolio landlords who wanted to offload multiple units at once.

Cudahy, South Milwaukee, St. Francis & Shorewood

These inner-ring suburbs each have their own character, but the housing stock shares a lot in common — older homes that need work, owners who’ve been there for decades, and families inheriting properties they can’t maintain. We buy in all of these communities.

Brookfield, New Berlin & Other Waukesha County Suburbs

We also buy in the western suburbs. This year we purchased a home in Brookfield from an owner living in Georgia who needed to sell after his tenants moved out. See our Waukesha page for more on how we serve that part of the metro.

We Also Buy Houses Across Wisconsin

Milwaukee is our largest market, but we buy homes throughout the state. If you or someone you know has a property outside the Milwaukee metro, we can likely help there too:

  • Oshkosh — Our home base since 2015. We’ve purchased more homes in Oshkosh than any other city.
  • Waukesha — We buy throughout Waukesha County, from the city of Waukesha to the surrounding suburbs.
  • Appleton — Active in the Fox Cities area including Appleton, Kaukauna, and the surrounding communities.
  • Green Bay — Buying homes across Brown County and the greater Green Bay area.
  • Madison — We cover the Dane County market including Madison and surrounding communities.

Visit our Where We Buy Houses page for the full list of areas we serve across Wisconsin.

Carter and Bryan Crowley, owners of CB Home Solutions in Milwaukee

CB Home Solutions is a father-and-son operation. I’m Carter — I handle acquisitions, evaluate properties, and hold an active Wisconsin real estate license through Realty One Group Haven (License #81027-94). You can verify our BBB accreditation here. My dad Bryan manages the construction side — once we buy a house, he and our crew of local contractors handle the renovation.

We’ve been involved in over 300 real estate transactions since 2015. We started in Oshkosh and expanded into the Milwaukee metro because the opportunity was here — older homes, motivated landlords, and families who need a simpler way to sell. We’re not a franchise, not a call center, and not a faceless company. When you call CB Home Solutions, you talk to us.

Common Questions About Our Process

Do you actually buy homes in Milwaukee, or are you based somewhere else?

We’re based in Oshkosh and expanded into Milwaukee County over the past few years. We have a Milwaukee office at 1000 S 31st St, Milwaukee, WI 53215. We’ve purchased 15+ homes across the Milwaukee metro in the past year — from Sherman Park to West Allis to Holt Ave. We’re actively buying here every month and our Milwaukee Google Business Profile reflects our local activity.

Can you buy my rental property if I still have tenants living there?

Yes — this is actually one of the most common situations we handle in the Milwaukee metro. You don’t need to evict anyone or wait for leases to end. We buy properties with tenants in place and handle the transition. This year alone we purchased an entire portfolio of 11 rental properties from one landlord who was managing them from out of state.

How quickly can you close on a Milwaukee house?

We can close in as little as 14 days, though most Milwaukee transactions close in 21–30 days depending on title work. The timeline is flexible — if you need more time to figure out your next move, we can accommodate that. You pick the closing date.

Is it better to list my Milwaukee home with an agent or sell for cash?

If your home is in good condition, well-maintained, and you have 2–4 months to wait, listing with an agent will usually get you more money — and because Carter is a licensed real estate agent, we can help you explore that option honestly. A cash sale makes more sense when the house needs significant repairs, when you have tenants you don’t want to deal with, when you’re settling an estate, or when you simply need speed and certainty over maximum price. We’ll walk you through both options so you can decide what’s best for your situation.
