So if you’re watching this video, you might have recently inherited a property from a family member, friend, or someone alike. My sincere condolences to you. It is a very sad and difficult time, or it can be at least. So when you’re going to sell the inherited property, sell the property you got, in probate that was granted to you, you might want to know what the next steps in the process are.
So say you inherited it. Typically, in that situation you’ll get a transfer on death deed, and it’ll be deeded over into your name. At that point, once it’s deeded over into your name, you can do whatever you would like with the property, whether you’re going to keep it and hold it as a rental property, whether you’re going to sell the inherited property, or whether you’re going to live there. It all depends on what your comfortability is, what you want to do when it’s all said and done. So when you’re, say you want to sell the inherited property, what are you next steps, what do you want to do?
Well, if it’s in good condition, you can list it with a real estate agent, a local realtor here in the area, and get it sold for you in that regard. But, if it’s not in such condition, or maybe you’re out of the area and you don’t want to deal with the upkeep, the repairs, the maintenance, all of those items, it might be easier to sell the property to a company like our own, where we buy houses throughout the Fox Valley area. But, other than that, she doesn’t need to move all the furniture, the miscellaneous items. Some may call it garbage.
